Chic Empire Dresser
Chic Empire Dresser gets a sexy silver makeover with Efex.
Empire never seems to go out of style and in this version, it has a distinctly silver patina done with a couple of quick and easy steps.
It seems that everyone wants to add a little bling and special style this season. Winsome scrolls dance across the drawers of this lovely empire style dresser. With the addition of some silver this becomes a bespoke piece with a lux touch.
The technique was a simple two step process using Paris Grey Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan and Pearl Plaster from Artisan Enhancements. We used a combination of two scrolls (they come in pairs) SC48 and SC 54 on the drawers. This piece would go well in almost any room, from bedroom to entry hall.
Voila Chic Empire Dresser number 1. Now I need to find another one to restore.
Beautiful!!!
Love the look you achieved pearl plaster.
would love to know how you created this amazing look
This was very simple, and not terribly time consuming. For the top drawers we used E2 Escutcheons and SC54 scrolls. On the larger, lower drawers are SC48 Scrolls and E1 Escutcheons. To create the silver look we first painted the entire dresser with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Paris Grey. Once that was dry we applied Artisan Enhancements Pearl Plaster over the Chalk Paint. This gave the subtle pearlescent sheen we were looking for, and over the Paris Grey color it looks silver. Put it over another color and you’d get a whole different look! I linked to their retailer page so you can find someone near you who carries it. You could highlight the Efex more if you wanted, silver Gilding Wax is a great way to do that. Have fun, Happy Efexing!
