Faux Marble with Efex
We have had a lot of fun projects here this summer, and one of them has been making marble tops.
My first foray into faux finishing marble was with Steve Wallis at a beautiful class years ago. After that my girlfriend Johanne Bilodeau from Peintre de L’illusion and I tried our hand at marbling an Efex.
Johanne is such a talented faux finisher that the results were stunning.
I didn’t do another project for quite a while and then I got motivated again by the talented Johnathon Marc Mendez and his excellent video. So I did a black marble top for this side table, which highlights one of our new rosettes R17. We will get to the new rosette next week.
This table started as a black surface and then added the veining in grey, With a smattering of reds and orange.
Finally, we had this old sewing table, that was begging for a new top. The inspiration for this one came from the marble top French table we have on our porch.
Pinks and reds with greys and browns highlight this one. And of course, a little trim to spiff up the edges a T19 our small bead trim.
