Friends At The Fair

Two weeks ago  I showed you the treasures we found at the fair. But this trip to Rhinebeck was more than just treasure hunting. It was a time for old friends to chill and relax, make new friends and mostly go on a mini-walkabout.

In this context, a walkabout is leaving your worries behind and have fun with your girlfriends. And that is what Michelle and I did. Nicknamed the Thelma and Louise road trip was a wonderful junking trip.

We started with dinner at the CIA. A little spooky but lovely food. Oh, yes CIA means The Culinary Institute of America.

The next day it was off to tour the Vanderbilt Mansion and visit the fair where I had the opportunity to meet Nora Murphy, of Nora Murphy’s Country Home. Her new book will be out in the fall, and I think it will be a winner.

Finally, we caught up with Annie Sloan and 40 or so of our favorite friends for dinner at the Beekman Arms Hotel. A great time was had by all.

To my friend Michelle in Texas. “Louise – Thelma here, are we ready for Brimfield?”

Speaking of Michelle at Wonderfaux Home, what a great idea for a vanity door. Her wall and door finishes are just perfect. And…. I love that little R3.
